The Sun – Gio probe in chaos

    August 12, 2024

The Sun has an exclusive on the BBC investigation into claims by former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Amanda Abbington. The probe into ex-Strictly pro-Giovanni Pernice has been thrown into chaos after Amanda Abbington handed in more bombshell messages. Giovanni was on the brink of being cleared by investigators until Amanda handed in more text messages, sources said last night.

Elsewhere, the front page features an image of Tom Cruise, who closed the Paris Olympic Games last night in a ‘jaw-dropping Mission Impossible-style stunt as Paris handed the baton to Los Angeles.’

Major update in Strictly scandal after Amanda Abbington hands BBC new texts with fresh revelations over Gio’s behaviour

THE probe into ex-Strictly pro Giovanni Pernice has been thrown into chaos after Amanda Abbington handed in more bombshell messages.

The BBC investigation was expected to conclude this week until a dramatic intervention from actress Amanda, who quit the show last year.

Giovanni was on the brink of being cleared by investigators until Amanda handed in more text messages, sources said last night.

They claim further revelations were discussed last week during a meeting with two police officers conducting the probe into the dancer’s behaviour on the BBC show.

A source said: “It has turned the course of the probe.”

The latest disclosures appear to show that Giovanni’s conduct fell short of what is expected from the Strictly pros.

Tom Cruise pulls off spectacular stunt to close star-studded Olympics 2024 in Paris

TOM Cruise closed the 2024 Olympics with a jaw-dropping Mission Impossible-style stunt as Paris handed the baton to Los Angeles.

The 62-year-old actor left viewers and sports stars gobsmacked as he slid down a rope from the roof of the Stade de France and landed on the pitch.

Tom seemed completely unfazed despite the 115-foot-high drop as he was greeted by the elated athletes.

The Hollywood star then hopped onto a motorcycle to take the Olympic flag on a joyride out of the stadium.

A pre-recorded video then showed Tom riding past classic Parisian landmarks like the Eiffel Tower before arriving at an airport.

After boarding the aircraft, the Top Gun actor could be seen skydiving out of the plane and later landing in Los Angeles.

Today’s news summary – Paper Talk

If you are someone who reads every perspective of a story, here is a news summary of all of today’s front pages from today’s newspapers; summarised in a 2-minute read

‘No more rioting in the name of our little girl’ & ‘Olympics end in style’ - Paper Talk

    Editorial 12 August 2024.

Monday’s front pages cover various stories. Most of the papers feature striking images from last night’s Paris Olympics closing ceremony as the Games ended in ‘spectacular style.’

The funeral of Alice da Silva Aguiar is also pictured on the front pages – and is the lead story for many of the tabloids. The nine-year-old was stabbed to death, along with two other little girls, at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class.

Several broadsheets continue their coverage around the riots that followed the murder of the three little girls with the worst of the violence appearing to be behind us now. The aftermath of the rioting – and what comes next – is covered by the papers, with each offering up their analysis and opinions about the future.
