Germany to announce nationwide Covid lockdown for unvaccinated population
The Daily Express says GERMANY will announce a nationwide lockdown for the unvaccinated amid soaring COVID-19 cases and Omicron variant fears.
Acting German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and Olaf Scholz, who will take over from Ms Merkel next week, will meet with regional leaders on Thursday morning to finalise the regulation change.
Several German regions have already taken this step.
Mr Scholz had previously shouted down calls to plunge Germany into a new lockdown.
