The first contestant of Love Island 2023 has been dumped from the villa.
A dramatic recoupling gave the girls all the power, leaving one boy single and forcing him out of the villa.
Alas, it was time for George Fensom to go.
The first recoupling of the series saw Ella Thomas couple up with Tyrique Hyde, while Ruchee Gurung stuck with Andre Furtado.
Meanwhile, Catherine Agbaje picked Zachariah Noble and Molly Marsh went with Mitchel Taylor after a turbulent 24 hours that saw her in tears and exploring other connections.
Jess Harding coupled up with Sammy Root after feeling ‘butterflies’ with him over recent days.

Whitney Adebayo was the final girl to choose, and it was between George and Medhy Malanda – but she followed her heart and went with Medhy, leaving George single and off to pack his suitcase.
But, 24-year-old business development exec George took it all in good spirits.
Speaking after his exit, the newbie reality star said his time on the show had been ‘a blast’.
He also reflected on being coupled up with Jess, who admitted she’d always have a ‘soft spot’ for him and would miss his ‘banter’ and ‘dad jokes’, as the public initially paired them up on launch day.
‘Jess is an absolutely lovely girl but it felt more like a friendship. Jess and I were always cracking banter and having the best time. I just don’t think there was anything there romantically, but that’s completely fair enough,’ he said.
‘If it was up to me to choose on day one, I would’ve definitely gone for Molly, she’s such a good-looking girl.’

George certainly got his graft on in the villa, having chats with Molly, Ruchee and Whitney.
‘It’s no secret that all the girls in there are so beautiful and I feel like I did the best I could, I tried to build connections but I’m glad I stayed true to myself,’ he said.
‘I didn’t want to force a connection just for the sake of it.’
Meanwhile, with the lads, he reckons he and Andre were closest.
‘They were all legends and I’ll definitely be meeting up with them all when I get out, especially Andre. He was the one guy I always found it easy to talk about nothing with,’ George said sweetly.
‘It was the combination of having a laugh but also having him check in and see how I was doing, we really got each other in that respect.’

Summing up his Love Island experience, although it was short-lived, George said it was ‘the best thing I’ve ever done’.
‘I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s been so much fun and the most amazing experience from start to finish.’
George’s time in the villa certainly got people talking.
Before the show even began, he was making headlines with old homophobic tweets resurfacing, while ex-girlfriends claimed he was ‘controlling’ while they dated, which he has denied.
When he finally did get on screen, George was the talk of Twitter and quickly became a meme.

In the very first episode, viewers were baffled when he thought a ‘Casanova’ was a car… yikes.
He then left fans baffled once more by comparing himself to *checks notes* a lasagna?
Well, this is Love Island, anything can happen.
