Match of the Day star Gary Lineker has become the latest BBC star to speak out amid the allegations which broke on Friday.

It was reported that a male BBC presenter has been taken off-air and was reportedly being investigated for providing money in exchange for explicit photos from a teenager.

The well-known presenter, who has not been named, was accused of giving more than £35,000 to an anonymous teen for the images.

While the teenager at the centre of the allegations is now 20 years old, the situation is said to have begun when they were 17, with their mother saying that money received was used to fund a drug addiction.

BBC Sports presenter Lineker, 62, has now denied the allegations have anything to do with him.

He wrote: ‘Hate to disappoint the haters but it’s not me.’

This comes after the likes of Jeremy Vine and Rylan Clark also addressed any rumours.

Former The Wright Show host Vine responded to Tweets trying to identify him as the BBC presenter with: ‘This is seriously defamatory of me. I have screenshotted it and the retweets and passed it to a lawyer.

‘There is no truth WHATSOEVER in what you are saying.’

He elsewhere added: ‘They are completely and utterly untrue.’

In a separate Tweet, Vine wrote: ‘Just to say I’m very much looking forward to hosting my radio show on Monday – whoever the ‘BBC presenter’ in the news is, I have the same message for you as Rylan did earlier: it certainly ain’t me.’

This comes after former It Takes Two host Rylan also hit out at the rumours.

‘Not sure why my names floating about but re that story in The Sun- that ain’t me babe,’ he posted on Twitter.

‘I’m currently filming a show in Italy for the BBC, so take my name out ya mouths,’ he added, referring to Will Smith’s infamous line from last year’s Oscars, when he told host Chris Rock to keep wife Jada Smith’s name ‘out of his f***ing mouth’.

When speaking about the alleged incident, the young person’s mother said that seeing the presenter involved on telly made her ‘sick’.

‘I blame this BBC man for destroying my child’s life,’ she added to The Sun.
