Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been offered a return to management at Turkish club Besiktas, according to reports.
Solskjaer has been out of work since his three-year stint as United manager between 2018 and 2021.
During Solskjaer’s time in charge at Old Trafford, United finished as runners-up in both the Premier League and Europa League.
The 50-year-old Norwegian, who has also previously managed Molde and Cardiff City, could now be set to take the Besiktas job.
That’s according to reports in Turkey, where it is claimed that Solskjaer has been offered the role on an 18-month contract.
‘I thank Beşiktaş for their impressive offer,’ Solskjaer told NTV Spor. ‘I have not made my decision yet.
‘First of all, I need to know exactly what is wanted from me. Will a project be presented to me or is a short-term solution sought? I make an evaluation within the scope of a project.

‘I need to know the team and the opportunities that will be offered in detail. I will make my decision after clarifying these issues.’
Solskjaer enjoyed an illustrious playing career before he entered management, most famously at United, where he made 366 appearances and scored the winner in the 1999 Champions League final as the Red Devils secured the treble.
After he lost his job as United manager, he was replaced on a caretaker basis by Michael Carrick and then Ralf Rangnick before Erik ten Hag arrived in 2022.
