Javier Mascherano, the coach of Argentina U20s, is set to fly to England next week for talks with Manchester United over a dispute involving Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho has been on the sidelines since mid-March with an ankle injury and though no return date has been set, it is said he will be back before the end of the season.
This is good news for Erik ten Hag who will need the forward for United’s run-in as they look to seal a place in the Premier League top four.
However, the 18-year-old has also been named in Argentina’s preliminary squad for the U20 World Cup which kicks-off on the 20th May, meaning he would miss the Red Devils’ last two league games of the season as well as the FA Cup final should they get there.
He would have also missed the Europa League final but United shockingly crashed out of the competition on Thursday night after a 3-0 (5-2 on aggregate) loss to Sevilla.
As a result, his club have blocked his call-up, something the Argentinean FA haven’t taken too kindly too.
Now, The Telegraph report that Liverpool and Barcelona icon Mascherano will fly to England on Monday to meet with United officials in an effort to secure Garnacho’s early release.

It is also said that he will be meeting with other clubs during his visit for similar reasons, with Manchester City’s Maximo Perrone and Brighton’s Facundo Buonanotte also getting called-up.
Garnacho was called up to the senior squad during the last international break but pulled out due to the ankle injury, and has scored four goals in five U20 appearances.
Argentina are hosting the U20 World Cup, where England will also feature having been drawn against Uruguay, Iraq and Tunisia.
