Foo Fighters fans have been taking their time to remember the late great drummer Taylor Hawkins on the one-year anniversary of his death.
Hawkins died on March 25 aged 50 in his Colombia hotel room during the group’s South American tour.
Following the news of his death, Bogotá’s District Department of Health said that after the legendary musician was found in the hotel, efforts to resuscitate him were attempted, but ‘there was no response, and the patient was declared deceased’.
Many fans across the world have shared their tributes to the star one year one, including the band The Police, who posted a photo of drummer Stewart Copeland and Hawkins together.
Taking to Twitter, they wrote: ‘Remembering Taylor Hawkins today. Stewart and Taylor photographed together during filming of the BBC series ‘On Drums…’

SiriusXM host Eric Alper posted: ‘It’s been exactly a year since Taylor Hawkins passed away. The music world still seems less fun since then.’
Alongside a black and white photo of Hawkins, one fan said: ‘Can’t believe it’s been a year. You are truly missed. RIP Taylor Hawkins 😭💔’
Expressing their disbelief at how quickly time has gone, another penned: ‘It’s been a whole year since we lost Taylor Hawkins and I’m still at a loss. How has it been a year?’
On New Year’s Eve, Foo Fighters reflected on the ‘tragic’ year of 2022 and Hawkins’ death.
In a statement shared on Instagram, they penned: ‘As we say goodbye to the most difficult year and tragic year that our band has ever known, we are reminded of how thankful we are for the people that we love and cherish most, and for the loved ones who are no longer with us.
‘Without Taylor, we never would have become the band that we were – and without Taylor, we know that we’re going to be a different band going forward.’

Last September, the band hosted a tribute concert for Hawkins, who joined the band in 1997, at Wembley Stadium, honouring his life.
The concert also saw performances from Liam Gallagher, Dave Chappelle, Nile Rodgers and Queens of the Stone Age.

Shortly after Hawkins’ death, a statement from the Colombian attorney general’s office claimed that Hawkins had ‘10 types of substances’ in his system, including THC (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines and opioids.
