Strictly stars face axe after show rocked by scandal as bosses consider culling five longest-serving dancers
STRICTLY stars arrived to start training for the new series yesterday — as BBC chiefs consider a cull of long-serving dancers after alleged abusive behaviour on the show.
Up to five professionals could face the axe next year in the wake of the scandal surrounding Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima.
Execs believe the misconduct being alleged could be fuelled by popular, veteran stars feeling they are “entitled and untouchable”. Giovanni, 33, was on the BBC One show for nine years and Graziano, 30, for five.
Other pros have been there for longer. A TV insider said yesterday: “There isn’t much they can do to change the line up for this year’s crisis-hit show, but the feeling is that Strictly needs to make a fresh start in 2025.
Prince George gives subtle nod to Taylor Swift fandom in 11th birthday pic – days after Charlotte sported same accessory
PRINCE George looked smart in his black-and-white 11th birthday portrait – and eagle-eyed fans will notice a new addition to his outfit.
The young prince can be seen wearing a friendship bracelet above the cuff of his white shirt in the regal-looking photo.
The image was taken by mum Princess Kate and shared on the Kensington Palace special media page today.
King Charles, 75, has also been seen wearing what appears to be a “friendship bracelet” during his recent public appearances.
This included his visit to Guernsey with Queen Camilla.
The bracelet appears to be a red and white knotted bracelet, and is similar to two threaded bracelets worn by Princess Charlotte at Wimbledon.
Spanish destination set to raise daily fee ‘substantially’ for millions of tourists
BRITS heading to Spain could soon face a huge hike in their holiday costs.
The mayor of Barcelona has revealed plans to “substantially” raise the tourist tax for day visitors.
This will only apply to cruise tourists who visit the city for less than 12 hours.
However, the decision comes because of the visits providing “no benefit” to the public spaces.
The current cruise tax for passengers is €7 (£6), but the new price has not been revealed.
Jaume Collboni, the city’s mayor, said: “We’re going to propose substantially increasing the tax for cruise passengers.
“In the case of stopover passengers, there’s intensive use of public space without any benefit. It needs to be respectful.”

Tuesday’s front pages, for the second day, are heavily dominated by US politics. Many broadsheets turn their focus to Vice President Kamala Harris as millions of dollars in donations to the Democrats have started to pour in, and Democratic heavyweights throw their support behind the VP.
The UK tabloids are less focused on US politics and look a little closer to home with various domestic stories featured as the leads.
The back pages are focused on Premier League gossip and the upcoming Paris Olympics.
