Ryan Reynolds has been spotted in the iconic red suit as he begins filming the new Deadpool movie, which will treat fans to time-travel hijinks once more.
The 46-year-old was spotted filming in the woods in the UK in what appeared to be a car crash scene.
It’s thought the choice to shoot in the UK could be connected with the actor’s involvement with Wrexham FC, which he owns with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’s Rob McElhenney.
Ryan looked ready for action in the red and black skintight suit, although eagle-eyed fans will spot his logo belt and weapon of choice – his katana swords – are missing.
His stunt double donned the famous mask without the expressive eyes while Ryan opted to keep his face uncovered, a rarity for the character.
This third instalment of the franchise will finally see Deadpool dip his toe into the multiverse as the Marvel anti-hero teams up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

While this might be the third stand-alone film for Deadpool, also known as Wade Wilson, it is actually the fourth time Ryan has portrayed the wisecracking mercenary on screen.
He appeared, rather contentiously, in X-Men Origins: Wolverine as the final antagonist to Hugh’s Logan.
The filmmakers decided to sew Wade’s mouth shut stopping any jokes from the ‘merc with a mouth’, as well as changing his powers, his face, and basically the entire character.
In both previous Deadpool films, Wade has made a joke out of his X-Men version, much to the joy of fans who disliked that iteration of the insane anti-hero.
Despite their reservations about the Origins Deadpool, fans have long been waiting to see if Hugh and Ryan, who are friends off-screen, will reunite these characters.

In the comics, Wolverine and Deadpool team up on occasion but are certainly not friends, although there is respect there.
Hugh had said he was done playing Wolverine after giving the long-standing Marvel hero a send-off in 2017’s Logan but was tempted back for this 10th outing.
The pair clarified during a faux Q&A that this film won’t impact the character’s death in Logan, which was set in 2029.
‘I had a lot of questions. I’m sure you had a lot of questions. But rest assured, we’re going to answer them right now,’ Hugh promised.
‘Like, for example, how is Wolverine alive after Logan?’
Ryan added that this was a ‘totally separate thing’, heavily hinting at time-travel or multiverse possibilities for the duo.

‘Logan died in Logan. Not touching that,’ Ryan assured fans. ‘What actually happens in our film is these two f***ing guys get out there and just like…’
Ryan’s voice is then drowned out by Wake Me Up Before You Go Go by Wham!, which is Wade’s favourite band.
While the focus has been on Hugh’s return to the franchise, Jennifer Garner is also on the list as Elektra.
Jennifer last portrayed Elektra, a highly skilled assassin, in her stand-alone movie in 2005 as well as in 2003’s Daredevil.
Also returning for Deadpool 3 are fellow heroes and X-Men; Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Colossus, played by Brianna Hildebrand and Stefan Kapicic respectively.
Human sidekicks Dopinder (Karan Soni) and Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) are also on the cast list.

This film’s villain will be played by Emma Corrin (Picture: Goff/Click News and Media)
Emma Corrin will play the villain, although little is known about which of Deadpool’s many enemies they could be.
The two biggest theories for their character are Lady Deadpool, from an alternative reality, or non-binary mutant Alef Chernekhov who has the ability to open portals to other dimensions.
Deadpool 3 is set to be released in cinemas on September 6, 2024, previously announced by Ryan himself.
