Fast and Furious bosses tease female-led spin-off after Mila Kunis throws hat in ring to join franchise

Plans for a female-led Fast and Furious spin-off are stepping up a gear, after the end of the franchise was confirmed.

Bosses confirmed that the hugely successful film series – starring Vin Diesel, Charlize Theron, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Michelle Rodriguez – would be coming to an end with a blockbuster two-part finale, starting with the release of Fast X next month.

There has previously been talk of another spin-off focusing on the female characters – including Jordana’s Mia Toretto, Letty actress Michelle, and Nathalie Emmanuel’s character, Ramsey.

Speaking to Business Insider, Universal Pictures boss Donna Langley vowed: ‘I would love to see a female Fast.

‘So would Vin (Diesel). We have so many great and amazing female characters in our franchise and now there’s the new addition of Brie Larson to add to this incredible roster. I would love to see us do a female Fast.

Nathalie previously added her voice to calls for a spin-off, telling Metro.co.uk of her hopes that it could be a reality.

‘I think it would be really iconic to have all the women of the Fast and Furious movies, past and up till today,’ she said. ‘I think everyone that’s been involved should come back, that would be really cool.

‘Fast and Furious has always had a female presence and these women have always been really badass, and had their own unique voice, but with each movie we feel that female voice growing and growing.

‘The truth of it is, we stand on the shoulders of everyone that came before us, like Michelle and Jordana being the OGs of these films, the idea of bringing everyone back and doing a cool female spin-off would be so awesome to me.

‘Obviously everybody is busy and doing what they’re doing, so who knows, but I would love that.’

Mila Kunis recently revealed herself as a huge fan of the franchise, and revealed that she would love to join the fold in some way.

Appearing at a screening of Luckiest Girl Alive, held at 92NY, she joined Josh Horowitz for a live taping of the Happy Sad Confused podcast when he asked what her ‘favorite franchise’ was.

After the host innocently named Fast and Furious, she replied: ‘I love Fast and the Furious! I really, genuinely do. How did you know I love Fast and the Furious? I’ve seen all of them!

We need to make this happen immediately.
