Phil has betrayed Kat in a huge way (Picture: BBC)
Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) finally learnt the truth about Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) infidelity in recent EastEnders scenes, and now it looks as though their marriage is over.
Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) left Kat gobsmacked when she revealed, in front of a packed Queen Vic, that Phil had slept with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) while engaged to Kat.
Furious Kat stormed out, flanked by Stacey Slater and Alfie Moon (Lacey Turner and Shane Richie), who tried to assure her that Sam may have been lying.
However, Kat had a feeling that she wasn’t, and later begged Phil to tell her the truth.

Kat may never forgive Phil for this (Picture: BBC)
Though at first he tried to deny it, he eventually relented and apologised for his actions, leaving Kat completely heartbroken.
Phil tried to make excuses for his cheating by arguing that his head was all over the place, but Kat refused to let him off the hook for his behaviour.
Though Phil lamented that it was a huge mistake that meant nothing, it was all too little too late for Kat, who insisted that she could no longer trust him, before storming out.

After being comforted by Alfie, Kat was left even more devastated when she discovered that he too had known about Phil’s affair, and instead turned to cousin Stacey for advice on what to do.
She pointed out that her whole life was entangled with Phil’s, thanks to their house, businesses and the bond he had developed with her children, and was shocked when Stacey suggested that she try to forgive him.
However, it soon became clear that Kat wasn’t ready to do that, as she instructed her boys to pack a bag, announcing that she and Phil had decided to split up.
Will Phil fight to win Kat back, or are things over between them for good?
