A dedicated Sam Fender fan carried a sausage roll from Newcastle to Paris to make sure the singer had a taste of home on tour.

The People Watching hitmaker, who hails from the Northern city, has just started his European tour after a stunning set at the Brit Awards.

Newcastle is the home of Sam, Greggs, and sausage rolls, so what better way to celebrate his tour than with an iconic pastry from the bakery chain?

Although we imagine it had gone a little cold on the journey over, which is roughly 556 miles — or 454 miles if you’re talking airport to airport.

Posting his pilgrimage on X, Daniel Walsh wrote: ‘I delivered a Greggs sausage roll from Newcastle to Paris to Sam Fender to kick off his tour nice and proper.’

Sam, 30, can be seen taking the sausage roll from the crowd and taking a huge bite mid-show, nodding his appreciation at Daniel.

Another fan, George, caught the interaction on video, showing Daniel cutting through the crowd, sausage roll held high, on his mission to get to Sam.

‘Incase you aren’t aware, Samuel is from Newcastle,’ joked Luke in the quotes of George’s X post. ‘I know, he doesn’t mention it much does he?’

‘This is absolutely incredible,’ said Elis Harrison as Molly added: ‘this made my day.’

‘God i love the british 😭😭,’ shared Rose, although plenty of other people were baffled by the interaction.

‘Don’t like the way that sausage roll is wobbling like that,’ added a concerned Andy.

Greggs, of course, have seen the video and replied: ‘The ultimate pastry pilgrimage 🙌🏽.’

This is the first gig of Sam’s tour since he was forced to cancel dates, including in his hometown, last year.

In December, he said he was ‘absolutely heartbroken’ after cancelling his tour dates due to a haemorrhage in his right vocal chord.

He said at the time: ‘Glasgow and Newcastle, as most of you know I’ve had the flu for a few days now.

‘Regardless of how compromised my voice was I did everything I could to get it in working order last night to put on the best show possible.

‘Today I’ve had an ENT scope/camera down my throat and sadly I’ve haemorrhaged my right vocal chord, I’m absolutely heartbroken.’

He recently won another Brit Award for best alternative artist (Picture: ADRIAN DENNIS/AFP via Getty Images)

He concluded to his one million followers: ‘I’ve done everything but the book this tour living like a monk, it’s so unlucky. I’m so, so sorry to all of you who are on your way tonight. We’re trying to figure out a way to reschedule for you all, more news soon.’

The rumoured Glastonbury 2025 favourite was back up and singing this month, though, taking to the Brits stage just days ago.

He also won the best Rock/Alternative Act as voted for by fans, joking he was ‘nowhere near as drunk as last time’ as he accepted the award.
