Express Sport – Glas half full: No win but Eagles show fight in front of new boss
The back page of the Daily Express features a variety of stories – mostly centred on the latest from the Premier League.
The paper’s main story is on new Palace boss Oliver Glasner.
‘No win but Eagles show fight in front of new boss’
Crystal Palace have announced Oliver Glasner as Roy Hodgson’s successor just hours before their crucial Premier League game with Everton. 76-year-old Hodgson, who was taken ill last week amid uncertainty over his future as manager, had faced mounting pressure following a string of poor results and he has since stepped down.
The paper separately reports on yesterday’s Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Everton – which ended 1-1.

‘Pep says sorry to Kal over body talk’
Elsewhere, the back page reports Pep Guardiola has apologised to Kalvin Phillips after jibe made about his weight. The 28-year-old’s nightmare spell at Manchester City came to a temporary end last month, when he sealed a loan move to West Ham until the end of the 2023/24 season.

‘United baulk at £20m Dan fee’
The paper also reports on Manchester United’s pursuit of Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth, who has been the target of a £20million raid. Ashworth left his role as technical director of Brighton in 2022 to move to St. James’ Park. He has since been placed on gardening leave by the furious Magpies after signalling his interest to depart.
