Explosion at Kabul airport as thousands of Afghans await evacuation flights
The Metro says there has been a huge explosion outside Kabul airport as people attempt to leave Afghanistan.
There are said to be injuries among Afghans at Hamid Karzai International Airport, but the extent of what has happened is not yet clear.
Eyewitnesses claim the blast, which apparently took place outside the eastern gate of the airport in a sewage canal, was a suicide bomber and there are multiple fatalities.
