Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) found herself in a sticky situation in recent Coronation Street scenes when she was arrested for an assault on sworn enemy Terry.
Since catching Terry abusing his dog, Evelyn has had a vendetta against the cruel pet owner, and recently became convinced that he was running an illegal puppy farm.
In more recent scenes, Evelyn decided she needed more proof, and roped in Roy Cropper (David Neilson) and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) to help her out.
After phoning the number on an advert they assumed had been placed by Terry, they managed to get hold of an address which Cassie decided to investigate.
The trip proved successful, as Cassie was able to learn the address where Terry was keeping the puppies, and she had soon headed over there without telling the others, before breaking in and finding exactly what they were looking for.

However, what she didn’t realise was that Evelyn was outside with a video camera, hoping to find evidence of her own.
Unfortunately, subtlety is not Evelyn’s strong point, and she was soon caught by Terry.
An argument ensued, with Terry breaking Evelyn’s camera in the process. Defeated, she ended up sloping off home, leaving Terry to go back inside.

However, he would soon realise that someone else was in the house, and when he headed upstairs to investigate, he was hit over the head by Cassie, who fled the scene, promising the puppies that she would report them to a charity.
Later, Evelyn was left shocked when PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) revealed that Terry had been attacked, and she was the last person to have been seen at his house, and arguing with him no less.
At the police station, Evelyn grew frustrated, and her stubbornness resulted in her being officially arrested for the crime, despite being innocent.

When Evelyn later returned home, Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) expressed his concern over what the future may hold for her, should Terry wake up and not remember who really attacked him.
Of course, Cassie knew exactly who was responsible, but chose to stay quiet about her involvement.
