‘Shop till you drop’
Walked the length of 5th Ave last week taking in all of the sights and many of the shops along the way. For me, it is certainly the shopping hub for the city though you need to have a few $$$ in your pocket for some of the top end brands. Dont miss the famous Saks and Tiffanys along the way.

Another visitor to the City said: “Every city has one but Fifth Avenue in NYC is iconic.”
Every city has one, wide streets, designer names but nothing is more iconic than Fifth Avenue. Even if you can’t afford it then just walk and browse. Best is to start from Central Park and walk up.

Is 5th Avenue expensive?
Fifth Avenue is extremely expensive, it’s known as Millionaire’s Row. It is New York’s most expensive and best shopping street with the world’s most expensive retail spaces. We can compare this avenue to the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Prices more expensive than London
We were lucky to be staying one block from 5th Avenue. The choice of shops is great and the staff are very attentive. However, we found the prices so much more expensive than in the UK. It’s not the case of coming to the USA for cheap shopping anymore, something’s were actually double the price of London. Still, the whole vibe and experience was nice. Flying back next year, can’t wait.

Fifth Avenue is officially the world’s most expensive retail district after Hong Kong lost the crown following COVID-19 restrictions. Milan’s Via Monte Napoleone came in third, with London’s Bond Street bagging the fourth spot.
Fifth Avenue is an excellent luxury shopping street and even if you’re travelling on a budget, window shopping is still an excellent way to spend the afternoon. It’s also worth mentioning that whilst there are plenty of luxury shops there are fashion brands that are affordable.
