Aubrey Plaza’s dress had everybody talking at Monday night’s Emmy Awards.
The 39-year-old posed for photographers in a stunning Loewe yellow gown featuring a huge dressmaker pin and an extra piece of fabric across the chest.
However, it didn’t take long for the internet to start with the memes, with one mock-up in particular getting fans talking online, with many thinking the image was actually the real deal.
The @everyoutfitonsatc Instagram account shared a snap of Aubrey’s dress with the iconic Sex and the City ‘I’m Sorry. I Can’t. Don’t Hate Me’ Post-it note line written across the front.
The season six SATC scene in question, which aired in 2003, saw Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) get dumped by her then-boyfriend Jack Berger (Ron Livingston) with a harsh message left on her pillowcase as she slept.
Social media users couldn’t get enough of the SATC mock-up, with Instagram user @rachaelogilvie sharing: ‘the way i thought this was real [sic]’ with a crying emoji.

X user @Seanlofficial, on the other hand, compared Aubrey’s interesting look to a Kraft cheese square.
Aubrey was nominated at Monday’s Emmys for the best supporting actress in a drama series award for her role as Harper Spiller in The White Lotus.
She teamed her floor-length, backless gown with a pair of gold platform heels, wearing her brunette locks in a chic half up, half down ‘do.
