Chelsea vs Leeds set to play pivotal role in deciding Mauricio Pochettino’s future
Mauricio Pochettino is facing a crucial showdown that could determine his long-term future at Chelsea.
Chelsea are set to play against in-form Leeds United in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, and Pochettino knows that this fifth-round tie could be pivotal in deciding his fate at Stamford Bridge. While Pochettino isn’t thought to be in immediate danger, it’s likely that the club’s top brass will judge him based on his ability to win trophies and, more importantly, secure a place in Europe next season.

West Ham coach Kevin Nolan held back from Neal Maupay after ‘taking offence’ down tunnel
Tempers flared at half-time during West Ham’s Premier League clash against Brentford.
And few will be surprised to learn Neal Maupay was again at the centre of the fracas as the two teams emerged for the second half in east London. The Bees went in at the break trailing 2-1 after Bowen scored twice in as many minutes, only for Maupay to halve the deficit with a sliding finish.
Not ready to end his contribution there, the Frenchman put his mouth to work during the half-time interval. Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville suggested Maupay was hovering outside the referees’ room at the break, and West Ham coach Nolan seemingly “took offence” to that.

Jarrod Bowen wanted for England Euro 2024 place ahead of Rashford after Brentford hat-trick
West Ham star Jarrod Bowen did his Euro 2024 chances no harm with a hat-trick against Brentford.
Having come into Monday’s clash without a goal in eight Premier League outings, the 27-year-old put a stop to his recent slump in scintillating fashion. That’s after Bowen netted twice in as many minutes to put the Bees firmly on the back-foot in their cross-city derby.
The Hammers hero then made that three in the second half as fans lined up on social media urging Gareth Southgate to pick the player this summer. And Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford found himself in many of those same supporters’ sights as they insisted Bowen was more deserving of a place on the plane to Germany.
