Evelyn traumatised as she confronts Terry abusing his dog in Coronation Street spoiler video

Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) has always had a love of dogs, and seeing one being mistreated leaves her upset in a new Coronation Street spoiler video.

Viewers have already seen Evelyn square up with Terry after witnessing him abusing his poor little dog on the street.

Thankfully, Roy Cropper and Cassie Plummer (David Neilson and Claire Sweeney) were there to back her up when Terry turned nasty, with Cassie deciding to film his outburst on her phone.

Unfortunately, Evelyn has another run in with Terry, as this new spoiler video shows.

While shooing off a customer outside the charity shop, Evelyn overhears Terry shouting at his dog, before shutting the door of his van.

Evelyn is quick to point out that you shouldn’t leave animals in vehicles unattended, but Terry accuses her of interfering.

She explains that she’s just concerned about the dog’s welfare, but Terry insists that he’s looking out for his mate who is allergic to dogs.

As Terry walks away, leaving his dog in the van, Evelyn makes a beeline for the charity shop, but what does she have planned?

Later, when Evelyn hears the dog whimpering in the back of the van she makes a decision, and Roy is left shocked when she arrives home with her new furry friend.

This is the start of a big storyline for Evelyn, as show boss Iain MacLeod teased previously.

‘We basically thought well, what do the viewers love, and essentially, we whittled the list down to they love Evelyn and they love dogs, because who doesn’t love dogs? And we thought let’s do a story about that. It ends up actually in quite serious territory.

‘Evelyn makes herself a bit of an enemy in the shape of a fella that she sees mistreating his dog. And it starts with that relatively small kind of exchange where they cross paths at the precinct and some cross words are exchanged.

‘And it goes from there to a situation that ends up with court appearances and trips to the hospital and really quite serious danger for both Evelyn and Cassie.’

With this in mind, should Evelyn have thought twice before getting involved with Terry?
