Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant ‘captured by Russian forces’ in Ukraine
The Metro says Europe’s biggest power plant has been seized by Russian troops in Ukraine, according to local authorities.
The State Inspectorate for Nuclear Regulation said the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is occupied by the military forces of the Russian Federation.
A statement on social media said that station staff continue to work and monitor the state of the power units to ‘ensure their safe operation’.
It added that information on the dead or injured is currently missing.
