The Euro 2024 logo will be appearing all over our screens this summer with the European Championships taking place in Germany between June 14 and July 14.
The colourful and vibrant design will feature everywhere from TV graphics to the sleeves of the players taking part, with organisers hoping the logo can help promote diversity and bring football fans together for the month-long tournament.
But what exactly is the meaning behind the Euro 2024 logo?

What is the meaning behind the Euro 2024 logo?
The Euro 2024 logo has been designed with the colours from the flags of UEFA’s 55 member associations.
The arrangement of the 24 coloured segments, one for each of the 24 teams contesting this summer’s tournament, reflects the shape of the roof of the Olympiastadion, which will host the final on July 14.
The centre of the logo features the iconic Henri Delaunay Cup, which is named after UEFA’s first ever General Secretary, who created the idea of a European Championship but died five years before the first edition back in 1960.
According to UEFA, the Euro 2024 logo, as part of the wider tournament brand, ‘promotes a Euro where everyone feels welcome and diversity is celebrated.’
Work on the Euro 2024 brand, which was the result of a collaboration between UEFA, the German Football Association and the ten host cities, started in 2018 and was eventually developed by the VMLY&R Branding creative agency based in Portugal.
The logo itself was unveiled at a stunning light-show at the Olympiastadion in October 2021, attended by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin and a number of dignitaries including Euro 2024 tournament director and German football legend Philipp Lahm.
Each of the ten host cities also has its own unique city logo, featuring a famous landmark from their skylines.
Berlin has opted for the Brandenburg Gate, for example, whilst Munich has chosen the Frauenkirche, the biggest hall church in the world.
