Erling Haaland demolishes Premier League hat-trick record set 24 years ago
The Metro says Erling Haaland continued to write his name into the Premier League history books on Sunday with his latest hat-trick for Manchester City.
The Norwegian striker has taken English football by storm since his summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund and netted three more goals in City’s amazing 6-3 win over Manchester United at the Etihad, while he has scored 17 in 11 across all competitions.
The 22-year-old has become the first player in Premier League history to score hat-tricks in three successive home games – after trebles against Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace – and has already scored as many Premier League hat-tricks as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Didier Drogba.
