Erik ten Hag says he had a ‘fantastic feeling’ after talking to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sir Jim Brailsford about their plans for Manchester United.

The pair were at United’s training ground last week to meet with the Dutchman, and the trio spent hours discussing all facets of the club during a lengthy meeting.

Ratcliffe will be given full control of football operations when his 25% stake in the club is ratified in the next six weeks.

Brailsford is carrying out an audit of the football club, and is expected to appoint a sporting director and head of recruitment.

Though United’s results have been dismal this season, Ten Hag’s job is not under threat and the Dutchman is keen to work with INEOS.

And he says the company’s plans for United fill him with optimism, as he’s confident they can restore the club’s glory years.

‘Trust me, I had fantastic feeling after talking to them,’ said Ten Hag.

‘How their personalities and ideas affect the process they want to go in… great, really.

‘I’m very positive about that, I am sure it will be beneficial to Manchester United.’

United’s only chance of silverware this season is the FA Cup.

Wigan host United in tonight’s Third Round clash, with the League One side hoping to inflict a major upset.
