England squad announcement for UEFA Nations League games – Italy and Germany – Jadon Sancho disappointed to be left out of England squad
Thursday’s England squad announcement for upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Italy and Germany significantly left out Jadon Sancho.
This squad announcement was seen as significant as it may indicate who boss Gareth Southgate is eyeing up for the World Cup squad. The world cup squad announcement is just two months away.
Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has been omitted once again but many fans and pundits have argued Sancho deserved a spot in this team ahead of Jack Grealish and others who have failed to make an impact since the premier league season began.
“There were certain players we wanted to keep involved this time,” said Southgate on Thursday. “But that said it doesn’t mean that this is the end for some of the others who aren’t involved.”
“It is disappointing not to get a call-up but I have to keep working hard and hopefully I do get the call-up for the World Cup,” the 22-year-old said afterwards.
“I just have to focus on myself an carry on working hard.”
