Kathy may be set to lose her beloved café (Picture: BBC)
Pie and mash. Fish and chips. Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and her café. These are all things that should never be separated, yet EastEnders may be set to do just that as Kathy loses her beloved caff to Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry).
Recent scenes have seen Kathy’s café go up in flames after Rocky Cotton’s (Brian Conley) insurance scam, though things got out of hand when he, Bobby and Peter Beale (Clay Milner Russell and Thomas Law) became trapped inside.
Since then, Bobby and Rocky have made a full recovery, Peter has been left on a ventilator fighting for his life, and Kathy has been arrested. Talk about a dramatic few days!
In tonight’s (November 14) episode, Kathy faced rigorous questioning from police, who suspected that she had set fire to the café as part of an insurance scam.
Viewers will know that Kathy had nothing to do with it, and is also oblivious to the fact that it was husband Rocky who had deliberately started the fire.

One person who did know, however, was Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), and he was horrified that Rocky hadn’t done anything about Kathy’s situation.
When Rocky explained that he wanted to wait it out, because they might release Kathy with no charges, Harvey couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
He was quick to point out that Rocky’s luck had run out, and he needed to stop gambling with his wife’s freedom and finally tell the truth.

Knowing that a long prison stretch may lie ahead of him, Rocky was reluctant, but eventually came up with a plan.
After lying to the police and saying that he had attempted to fix the faulty electrics in the café, Rocky was able to bring Kathy home, but had to break the news that his ‘confession’ made the insurance policy void.
Essentially, the damage Rocky had caused was all for nothing.
Nish blackmailed Rocky (Picture: BBC)
In the Queen Vic, Rocky was once again accosted by Harvey, while Nish watched on from across the bar.
Once Harvey had left, Nish made his way over, and told Rocky that because of what his family were going through he would cancel his debts.
Unfortunately, this is evil Nish we’re talking about, so there was always going to be a catch.

Nish dropped the bombshell that he knew Rocky had started the fire to get the insurance pay-out, and in true Nish style, decided to use the information to get what he wanted.
Nish revealed that the café was on valuable land, and told Rocky that if he wanted Nish to keep his secret, then he had to persuade Kathy to sell him the café for much less than it was worth.
Kathy has already made it clear just how important her Kathy is to her, so will Rocky be able to convince her to let it go? Or is his secret about to come spilling out?
