Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) had her world turned upside down in Emmerdale recently when Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) revealed he had found a lump in her breast.
Given Faith (Sally Dexter) died after her own cancer diagnosis, it was no surprise Chas spent time in denial following Liam’s discovery. Liam said that while he won’t tell anyone, he encouraged Chas to get checked out and in this new video, she receives a call with confirmation about an appointment.
In the pub back room, Liam pops by to see Chas. She tells him about the appointment but starts to wonder if the quick phone call back might mean something worrying.

A supportive Liam says they might want to tell Chas as quickly as possible, and is then thrown when she suddenly asks him to go along and be there with her.
Liam says he’s more than happy to come along and when Chas finds out it’s actually his day off, she’s touched to by the fact he’s choosing to spend time with her.
But at the appointment, what will Chas’s results be?
And can she finds the courage to tell her family what she’s going through?

Discussing this new narrative, producer Kate Brooks explained:
‘When this story was first pitched, we were acutely aware how important it was to explore this. With Chas’s family history of breast cancer and Chas being such a strong character, and in many ways the bedrock of the Dingles, we wanted to show the impact on not just her, but her immediate family.
