Last night’s episode of Emmerdale marked the ITV soap’s 50th anniversary – and so much happened.
The opening scenes were quite literally the calm before the storm. Kim (Claire King) hopped on her horse and headed out into the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, we viewed headstones of characters lost over the years, everything looked picture perfect ready for Kim and Will’s (Dean Andrews) wedding.
As the morning unfolded, residents soon got word that a huge storm was on the way.
When the major weather event arrived over the village, lives immediately became in danger.
At Home Farm, Lydia (Karen Blick) and Sam (James Hooton) informed Kim that Amelia (Daisy Campbell) was stuck out in the countryside and in labour.
Determined to help her friend, Kim returned to her horse and went to look for the teen.
Also heading into the woods was Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) – on a quad bike.
Unfortunately, when the wind caught Harriet’s quad, she ended up getting severely injured.
Just before the credits rolled, Kim attempted to help Harriet, but the quad exploding caused her to be launched backwards, knocking her head on a rock.
We pick up the drama tonight and if these comments from fans are anything to go by – they cannot wait.
‘Absolutely incredible! So excited to see more next week. From the graves to the horse to the storm. So much packed into one episode’, one fan said.
Another wrote: ‘Absolutely brilliant! Cannot wait to see what’s next was on the edge of my seat when the storm kicked in!’.

While many fans thoroughly enjoyed the episode, some audience members found it ‘underwhelming’.
‘For the hype I was expecting more’, one fan said.
Another Twitter user penned: ‘Honestly!!! As much as it pains me to say this cuz I love emmerdale, it just felt like a normal episode of emmerdale on Thursday!!!sorry but I’m loving cains soft side just wanna give him a hug’
‘Will’s not going to be too happy, because [he and Harriet] had this bit of an “I love you” thing going on,’ Claire King recently told us as she reflected on the dramatic scenes from last night.
‘Kim does suspect there’s something going on between Harriet and Will. I think Will could possibly blame Kim for whatever happens to Harriet.’
But as to whether Harriet makes it to the end of the dramatic week, Claire is staying tight-lipped.
‘I’d like to say I’ve just had a lovely time in Spain,’ she teased. ‘So it might be Kim that goes!’
