Sparks may be set to fly (Picture: ITV)
Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson)’s world was shattered in last October’s special storm week in Emmerdale when his beloved wife Liv (Isobel Steele) was crushed by a caravan and died.
The couple had only been married for a few months and had been through some turbulent times after the return of Liv’s scheming mother Sandra (Joanne Mitchell) to the village. She did her best to split Vinny and Liv up but was unsuccessful, leaving the couple stronger than ever and very much in love – so it was a complete heartbreaker when Liv died at the age of only 20.
Since then we’ve seen Vinny struggling with his grief, cutting himself off from his mum Mandy (Lisa Riley) and anyone else who tried to help as he felt angry with the world for what had happened to his wife.
Recently, while everyone was preoccupied with searching for Paddy (Dominic Brunt) who’d disappeared, everyone but Vinny forgot that it would have been Liv’s birthday.
But when the family found out they were determined to do something to mark the occasion and organised a get-together to mark the occasion and Vinny was touched by the gesture.
In upcoming episodes he realises he’s been using Liv’s death as an excuse to not get on with his life, and he agrees to Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper)’s suggestion of a night out.
