Sinister Craig Reed (Ben Addis) opens up to Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) about his true feelings for her in a new Emmerdale spoiler video, ahead of his horrifying attack on her.
Lydia is set to face a horrifying ordeal at the hands of old friend Craig, who is set to rape her in upcoming scenes.
In the new spoiler video, Craig talks to Lydia, following a charged moment between them the previous day.
After she took him the see their son’s resting place, Lydia and Craig hugged in his car, before Lydia rushed away, feeling guilty over their rekindled connection.
In upcoming scenes, Lydia will decide to hand in her resignation to Craig in order to create distance between them, but finds it difficult when he reveals how much their connection has meant to him.

Lydia listens while Craig reveals the plans he had had to win her over when he was younger, sharing how he wanted to whisk her off to the Carribean.
He goes on to express how shocked he was to run into her at the job fair and find out that he had a son, admitting that he believes that fate has brought them together.
After explaining how he feels as though the gods have put them back in each other’s orbits for a reason, he urges Lydia not to resign.

In a bid to persuade her, he asks her to think of Amelia (Daisy Campbell) and baby Esther, pointing out just how much Lydia needs this job to support them.
When Lydia explains that she doesn’t feel comfortable working for him anymore after everything, he asks her to forget about his request for them to meet up more often, before begging her to take back the resignation.
Following this discussion, Craig will go on to rape Lydia, something which actress Karen Blick revealed will have a long-term affect on Lydia.

‘As the shock subsides, Lydia at her core is a protector and that’s what she wants to do, she wants to protect her family from it. That’s what’s running through the initial aftermath is she just wants her family to be okay.
‘She’ll push her own feelings aside to make sure that Sam and Samson, those around her are protected from it. Of course what we see is that’s not going to work in the long run and she can’t cope with living like that for long.
‘Eventually as the story progresses she’s got to confront what’s happened to her and find a way to live with it.’
