With Chloe Harris’ (Jessie Elland) pregnancy journey almost at an end in Emmerdale, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is watching the clock every single minute, fully aware that when time runs out, he’ll become a father – but it won’t be to Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) child.
This week, Charity became paranoid that Mack was having second thoughts about marrying her because she assumed Moira (Natalie J Robb) was planting seeds of doubt in his mind when she walked in on them talking.
In actual fact, Moira and Mack were having a conversation about Mackenzie’s wish to be a father.
Mack told Moira that he and Charity probably won’t end up having children – failing to, of course, reveal that in a few months’ time he will become a father anyway.
As the stag and hen parties got underway at The Hide during Thursday’s (March 23) instalment of the ITV soap, things seemed to be going well. The friends and family were playing games and Cain (Jeff Hordley) even told Charity that he’s happy that she’s happy.
Yes, a shock.
With the drinks flowing, it wasn’t long until things got a little out of hand and Moira decided to drop the truth bomb about Mack wanting to be a father.
This made Charity emotional. The doubts were at the forefront of her mind again and all Mack could do was reassure her that he’s completely happy with their family set up.
While this event was unfolding, Chloe was in the hospital after Charity accidentally knocked her over.
As Chloe returned, she spoke to Sarah (Katie Hill) about how much she appreciated Amy (Natalie Ann Jameson) taking her to hospital, and was debating staying in the village after all, following time away in Scotland.
Back at The Hide, Sarah found Mack and told him that in order to keep things calm between the Dingles, Chloe must move back to Scotland – and he needs to ensure that happens.
But with Mack and Charity’s wedding looming and the possibility that Chloe might not leave after all, just how long will it be until the truth is revealed if Mack can’t change her mind?
