Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has struggled to come to terms with the fact that she still has feelings for ex-husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in Emmerdale.
In upcoming scenes, both Charity and Mack will find the enforced distance between them completely devastating, until Charity decides to do something about it.
Realising how painful it will be to stay in the village, Charity decides it is time to take some time away, and arranges to visit daughter Debbie up in Scotland.
Debbie has been living there since 2019, and has been visited on several occasions by daughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), who on one such visit took Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) with her to keep Mack and Chloe apart.

With Charity’s plan set in stone, she prepares to leave, only to be stopped in dramatic circumstances.
Mack, who has learnt of Charity’s plan, feels like he’s been punched in the gut, and decides he will do everything he can to make her stay.
His genius idea is to lay down in front of her car so that she physically can’t go anywhere.
