Things aren’t going too well for Cathy (Picture: ITV)
The drama continues in Emmerdale tonight, as Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) sneaks off with Marshall Hamston (Max Fletcher) and a stolen bottle of vodka.
After being hit with the news that she won’t be granted an access agreement for her studies without an official diagnosis for her PMDD.
Her headteacher suggested she should defer a year, but Cathy is left gutted and reeling and turns to the bottle for comfort.
After taking bottles of vodka from the B&B, intent on numbing her pain, she is caught by fellow troubled teen Marshall (Max Fletcher) who joins her in an attempt to drown their sorrows.
At the Cricket Pavilion, Cathy and Marshall share their troubles.
Taking alternative swigs from the vodka bottle, Cathy soon starts to feel the effects, going green in the face – but Marshall has no intention of stopping.
Meanwhile, Cathy’s Dad Bob (Tony Audenshaw), Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and Jai (Chris Bissam) look for the kids, after growing concerned about what they might be up to

As they find them, unwell, the drink gets the better of Cathy, as she vomits as the parents approach.
Marshall then hands over the vodka, with Laurel making a plea to get through to him, in the hope of taking him off a path of self-destruction.
Once home, Arthur feels rejected when Marshall takes himself off to bed.
However, little do they know that, in his bedroom, Marshall pulls out the second bottle of vodka. Unscrewing the lid, he takes another swig, determined to keep numbing his pain.
What will it take to get Marshall back on track?
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV
