Victor has now turned Naomi and Claudette against Charles (Pictures: ITV)
Victor Anderson (Eddie Osei) has been welcomed back into the family by Claudette (Flo Wilson), Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) and Naomi (Karene Peter) in Emmerdale, but Charles (Kevin Mathurin) has refused to give him the time of day.
When we first met Victor, he was just being released after a lengthy stretch behind bars. He approached Charles, who was waiting outside, and very quickly we established the relationship between father and son wasn’t a good one.
As he arrived in the village, Victor turned on the charm and tried to make it seem as though time behind bars had changed him as a person, but Charles wasn’t prepared to believe it.
Because Manpreet and Naomi had no idea about Victor, Charles and Claudette had to explain why he was arrested. They revealed he attempted to rob a building society with a shotgun in his hand and that he attacked a security guard so brutally, he was left with life-changing injuries in the aftermath.

Despite the obvious proof that Victor is a dangerous man, Manpreet, Naomi and Claudette all decided to give him another chance.
In Thursday’s (July 6) edition of the ITV soap, Victor’s main focus was helping Naomi, who was putting the final touches to an arrangement with Vinny (Bradley Johnson). He had agreed to lend Naomi some money to pay off her debts, despite the fact he’s not exactly best friends with her.

With a lot of cash in her bank account, Naomi initially remembered her good morals and knew that she’d eventually have to pay Vinny back, but then Victor got involved, telling her that she deserves to be adventurous and live the life she wants to.
Essentially, Victor told Naomi to take the money and run – and so she did.
Naomi packed up her things and called a taxi, revealing to Charles that she won’t be coming back.
At home, Charles’ anger started to grow. He was furious that his dad had made Naomi left, given that he was trying so hard to make up for all the years he hadn’t been around.

Victor then started alluding to the fact that Claudette doesn’t know a big secret about Charles, one that supposedly changed him forever.
The secret in question was about the weeks leading up to Victor’s imprisonment. He said that after the crime was committed, he had a chance to walk away and live a normal life, and all he needed was an alibi.
So, he called on Charles for help, but he refused to give him one.
A disgusted Claudette had tears falling down her cheeks by this point. Victor’s storytelling had made it seem as though Charles was the reason why he went to prison, and Claudette could barely look at him.

Charles tried to make his mum see that Victor wasn’t the victim, but he failed. Claudette walked away, leaving Victor to share a smug and evil smile in front of his son.
It’s very clear this storyline is only just getting started, but will Claudette find herself in serious danger now she’s turned her back on Charles and is siding with Victor?
