One moment of hot-headed temper was all it took for Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) to unleash a single punch at creepy stalker Lloyd on Emmerdale. And one punch was all it took to put him in a coma and eventually kill him.
The consequences of this for Dan are massive as, following his guilty plea in court, he knows he’s bound to face a prison sentence for manslaughter.
Amelia (Daisy Campbell), meanwhile, is terrified at the prospect of life without her dad, who has always been there for her and her baby Esther. So she comes up with a plan.
‘She doesn’t want to be away from her dad,’ Daisy Campbell told us.

‘Her dad’s all she’s really got. She’s not had much family in the past few years because they’ve passed away or they’ve moved away. She had Kerry (Laura Norton) as well but now they’re not together, Dan and Kerry, so I feel like she just can’t be away from her dad and her dad is her support system. I think it all stems from her not being able to live without her dad, really. I think that’s why they’ve only got that option to go on the run.’
Dan protests that going on the run is a bad idea, but Amelia insists that if they flee to Ireland they can stay together and Dan will avoid going to prison.

The next day she’s so preoccupied with worries about her dad that she loses concentration while she’s looking after Esther with scary results, almost causing her little girl to be hurt.

Dan saves her at the last second and both father and daughter are overwhelmed by the thought that if Dan goes to prison he won’t be around to help them.
This incident makes Dan reach a decision and he agrees that their only option is to go on the run. With the help of Cain (Jeff Hordley), they start to make plans.
