It’s never a pleasant experience bumping into an ex, but Rhona (Zoe Henry) is about to have the mother of all reunions in Emmerdale, excuse the pun.
Things have been improving with her and Marlon (Mark Charnock), having slowly started getting Paddy (Dominic Brunt) back on track Marlon is able to focus on his family once again. Wanting to make sure Rhona is a priority, he arranges a lunch date.
He rushes to make their special occasion but as they settle into their daytime romance, they’re interrupted – by Rhona’s ex-husband Gus.
Awkward all round, so Rhona quickly makes plans to catch up with him later, but it quickly becomes apparent that the unplanned ‘bump into’ was fully intentional from Gus’ side. He has an ulterior motive.
When they meet up later, Gus drops the clanger – he found Rhona to ask her a huge question, to have permission to use one of the frozen embryos that Rhona had been under the assumption had been destroyed.

Rhona is in absolute shock at the request and even more horrified to learn what he’s been doing without her knowledge – attending the clinic and acting on her behalf.
So while he’s asking permission, he’s actually already got the process well underway. Rhona is left with the most difficult decision of her life.
Will she have it destroyed, or will she allow him to have her baby?
