Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) gets word that Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) is back in the Emmerdale village soon, and it isn’t long until he discovers what a mess he’s in.
Aaron made a return this week as the person Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb (William Ash) were holding hostage in a farmhouse. A year on from Liv’s (Isobel Steele) traumatic death during the storm, Aaron is struggling to not only process his grief, but deal with the fact if Chas (Lucy Pargeter) never had her affair with Al (Michael Wildman), the moments prior to Liv dying never would’ve played out.
In this new video, we see the moment Paddy enters the pub back room to speak with Chas about Aaron’s return.
Chas explains that yesterday (Friday’s episode for us), Aaron was utterly vile to her and has ‘never seen him this bad’. Paddy sits down, determined to help, but Chas says that Aaron has more than likely left the village.

Recognising how upset Chas is, the beloved character says that someone needs to get through to Aaron – but can Paddy help?
Aaron left the village in 2021 after actor Danny decided to say goodbye to the show. He reprised his role for a number of episodes last year as part of Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary, before departing once more, which is why his latest return left fans in shock.

Discussing how this new return story came about, actor Danny told us: ‘Jane [Hudson, Executive Producer] and Laura [Shaw, Producer] pitched the idea to come back I was over the moon and so excited and they said: “There’s something we want to do with it which means you’ll have to keep it quiet.”

‘Some of my closest friends and family don’t even know what I’ve been up to. It was hard to do but obviously I respected it.
‘My appreciation for the show meant that I wanted to keep the secret and I wanted to be part of something that will be a soap shocking moment.’
