Sam Dingle (James Hooton) finally takes off his mask in Emmerdale soon as he breaks down over the news of Lydia’s (Karen Blick) rape.
This week, Lydia told some of the Dingle family that she was attacked by Craig (Ben Addis).
Afterwards, Lydia was supported by Sam and went to the police station to report the crime. Returning home, Lydia and Sam sat down to tell Samson (Sam Hall), but the teen’s initial reaction was insensitive and cruel towards his stepmum as he couldn’t believe that Craig would be capable of something so horrific.
Fortunately, Samson’s frame of mind changed, he apologised to Lydia and wanted to know what he could do to help.

Helping Lydia has been everybody’s priority but in this new video, we’re reminded of the importance that comes with looking after your own wellbeing and emotions as well.
At Home Farm, Will (Dean Andrews) talks to Kim (Claire King) about Lydia’s rape. They are interrupted by the arrival of Sam, who informs Kim and Will that Lydia is just about ‘coping’.
Just as Kim leaves, Sam tries to distract himself by talking about the broken fence on the grounds. Will then goes to make a tea, clearly trying to find a way he can support his friend.

Poor Sam then breaks down in tears. He has spent this week completely focused on supporting Lydia and as a result, hasn’t allowed himself any time to stop and think about how the situation has impacted him.
But will Sam talk to Will?
Or bottle everything up?
