Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is set to make a life changing decision in Emmerdale. After turning down Tom’s original proposal, she’s now ready to make him her husband.

When Tom (James Chase) previously proposed, Belle ended up cracking her head on the coffee table after he pushed her in a fit of rage when she rejected him. She’d said no as things didn’t feel right.

But Belle has pushed all of that to one side and brushed off the incident as an accident. Having Chas (Lucy Pargeter) in her ear about proposing to Tom, Belle decides to do it.

Actress Eden told Metro.co.uk: ‘As much as Chas is “Propose, propose!” I do think that Belle is thinking “He’s the love of my life – why not?”’.

Actor James branded the table incident as a ‘freak accident’, so could this truly be the start of something magical for the pair? Or is Tom just suppressing an evil side?

James tried to reassure viewers that Tom isn’t a bad egg: ‘I think it [the coffee table incident] was just something that happened, unfortunately, but I think it just shows how strong their relationship is and how wonderful Belle is that she’s able to move past it.

‘Right now, how amazingly lovely and romantic this is, that’s where they’re headed.’

Not sure he’s seeing what we’re seeing. Sounds like Belle is just ignoring all of the red flags.

Belle goes to propose, but her first attempt sees her crash and burn when Sam (James Hooton) drags her away for a birthday surprise.

On to plan number two, and this time she enlists the help of Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) to create the perfect moment.

Wanting to make it uber special, Belle goes big. The next day, Tom finds himself blindfolded and being led onto an ice rink with Leyla. The blindfold is removed, and Tom is left speechless when he sees Belle in the middle of a proposal setting, down on one knee – flanked by his favourite celebs Torvill and Dean.

He’s bowled over by the surprise, and instantly says yes – despite the ring being ‘one that we pulled from a cracker’, as Eden confessed.

After getting engaged, actual Torvill and Dean skate over and cause a fresh round of super excitement for Tom, who’s living a childhood dream.

Tom’s behaviour at the last proposal seems to have been forgotten, but despite actor James’ assurances, is Belle setting herself up for a nasty fall?
