Emmanuel Adebayor believes that the time is right for Victor Osimhen to move to the Premier League amid links to Chelsea and Arsenal.
Osimhen has been linked with a move to England for some time now having established himself as one of the best strikers in the world at Napoli.
Last season, the 25-year-old scored 26 goals in 32 league games to fire his club to the Serie A title, and so far this campaign has netted seven in 13 appearances.
Chelsea and Arsenal are the clubs most linked with him and could try to make a move in January with both sides in need of some new firepower.
However, a move in this window seems unlikely as Napoli won’t sell unless Osimhen’s £112million release clause is triggered, and finances are tight for the Blues and the Gunners.
Moreover, the striker is currently away at the Africa Cup of Nations where he’ll be hoping to go all the way with Nigeria, and as such any transfer would be complicated to negotiate.
Nevertheless, former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Adebayor, who is somewhat of a mentor for Osimhen, has backed his mentee to be as successful in the Premier League as Chelsea legend Didier Drogba was.

‘He has the right attitude, mentality and determination to excel there [in England],’ the former Togo star told BBC Sport Africa.
‘I’m praying for him to move to the Premier League and show what he’s capable of. The Premier League is the toughest and best [league] in the world.
‘Osimhen has shown and done it already in Italy, I think it is the right time for him to move to England and replace his idol Drogba and do beautiful things.

Osimhen would have a lot to live up to at Stamford Bridge as Drogba is considered one of the best strikers and one of the best African players in Premier League history, with 104 goals in the top-flight.
In the meantime, Osimhen’s Nigeria kick-off their AFCON campaign on Sunday against Equatorial Guinea.
