Emma Raducanu forced to retire from Wimbledon with medical issue
The i says she lit up Wimbledon with her poise and maturity and even though Emma Raducanu’s brilliant Wimbledon run came to an end last night she had already won over the crowds at SW19 and those at home in the nation’s living rooms.
The tennis starlet was forced to retire in the second set of her fourth round clash with Australia’s Ajla Tomljanovic with the score 4-6 0-3.
Raducanu had been noticeably struggling to breathe and, after consulting with the trainer and doctor, took a medical timeout in which it was deemed she could not continue.
