Ellie Goulding reportedly tried to keep her relationship troubles with her husband Caspar Jopling a secret for the sake of their young son, despite the fact they’d been living separate lives for six months.
Four years after saying ‘I do’, it’s been claimed the pair are spending time apart, and have been doing so for a while.
The pair were engaged after just one year of dating and tied the knot at York Minster a further 12 months later.
Ellie, 36, and art dealer Caspar, 31, then welcomed their first child Arthur in 2021.
An insider has now claimed that things ‘have been bad’ for a while.
They said: ‘Things have been bad for at least six months now, both parties have been really trying to be happy together for the sake of their son but these things can only take so long before it is untenable.
‘Ellie’s team were insisting that she and Caspar were happy, that any suggestions of them being apart were totally untrue and now this. It has all been very mysterious indeed.’

The source added to The Daily Mail: ‘There had been suggestions of troubles and even a full on split for quite some time but they kept insisting everything is was totally fine.’
Amidst these reports, the pair spent time together at the Serpentine Summer Party earlier this week, and they’ve also been supportive of each other.
Ellie recently released the album Higher Than Heaven, which has become her fourth number-one album, with her husband taking to Instagram to share his admiration for her.
‘You’ve impressed me from the moment I met you .. but this is new level !!
‘A UK chart double .. simultaneous number 1 album and number 1 single (not even on the album!) .. you amaze me and challenge me every single day darls. Beyond proud right now.’
