Elijah Wood and his partner Mette-Marie Kongsved secretly welcomed their second child, a daughter, last year.
The Lord of the Rings star, 42, revealed that his family had grown from three to four in a new interview, in which he talked about parenthood.
Speaking to WSJ Magazine’s My Monday Morning, Wood shed light on his experiences and how becoming a father has changed his routines.
‘You’re constantly being challenged, in the best way,’ he said. ‘It’s as much my own personal growth as it is about my child’s growth.’
Revealing what time he wakes up on a Monday morning, Wood continued to the publication: ‘Sometime between 5:30 and 6:30.
‘We’ve got a 3-year-old son and a 14-month-old daughter, and she wakes us up pretty early. I like getting up early, I like starting the day.

The Frodo Baggins actor opened up on why he also chooses to keep his Instagram private, explaining that having a public-facing profile would really change what he posts.
‘It’s not like I’m sharing anything that I wouldn’t want to go out, but I’m a relatively private person,’ he added.

Wood has been linked to film producer Kongsved since 2018 when they were spotted holding hands in California.
Prior to their relationship, he was with Everything Is Illuminated actress Pamela Racine for five years, from 2005 to 2010.
