Ed Sheeran has revealed that he has 24-hour security at his Suffolk house after an attempted break-in.
The singer, 34, has a sprawling estate in West Sussex, which is made up of five houses which he purchased in 2012.
This is just one part of his large property portfolio reportedly worth £57 million, but the Suffolk home is where he resides with his wife and two daughters in what he calls Sheeranville.
In a recent interview, the Castle on the Hill singer revealed that there are intense security measures at the property, ensuring his family’s safety.
‘I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids.
‘I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened,’ he said on The Louis Theroux Podcast.

He clarified that this practice was completely normal in the music industry because of the ‘dangerous people’ out there and a recent break-in attempt.
‘Just so you know, there are lots of dangerous people out there. We’ve had like you know, a break-in attempt.
‘In my industry, that’s normal. That’s kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye.’

The couple had children just a couple of years after tying the knot withLyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, born in 2020, and Jupiter Seaborn Sheeran, born in 2022.
While in conversation with Louis, Ed also spoke about his children’s privacy as he explained why fans will rarely see images of his two daughters.
‘I’m very, very private about my children’s image … I can’t take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them.
‘There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?’
He added that his children had not ‘signed up’ to being famous: ‘People go, well that’s the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that.’

This isn’t the first time the Shape of You singer has spoken about the tough parts of fame, explaining previously that he locked himself at home when he found the public scrutiny too intense.
In 2017, he told The Sun: ‘I stayed inside for four months. I just ordered food in and watched movies.
‘I couldn’t just go out and get a pint of milk. I always wanted to maintain normality – being able to go to the pub or go and do a gig.
‘I just stopped going out, instead I was ordering takeaways and putting on a lot of weight. I hadn’t got any balance, so I just stayed inside.’
