Ed Balls has taken a savage swipe at David Beckham after his fashion choices, urging the former professional footballer to ‘age with dignity’.
During a date night with her husband, Victoria Beckham, 49, revealed that the couple had chosen to don a double denim moment.
This wasn’t the first time that they have worn matching outfits, having frequently gone out wearing similar ensembles in the late 1990s and the early 2000s, including their iconic leather-look gladrags.
On Monday’s Good Morning Britain, co-hosts Ed, 56, and Ranvir Singh, 45, brought up the subject of the Beckhams’ latest matching outfits during a chat with Irish girl group B*Witched.
Unsurprisingly, the debate came about amid the ongoing Barbie-mania that’s been spreading around the world, which features Ryan Gosling’s Ken rocking the double denim look.
Ahead of B*Witched performing at Margate Pride, Ed quipped that fans need to come to the gig dressed in double denim, in keeping with their 1990s beginnings.

However, the former politician added that he thought there should be an ‘age cut-off’ for men over 50.
He then remarked that David, 48, ‘shouldn’t’ have gone for double denim, in his opinion.
‘You’ve got to age with dignity,’ he added.
It should be noted, however, that David is under the aged 50 ‘cut-off’ that Ed put forward, and later on during Good Morning Britain, the co-anchor ended up putting on a denim jacket himself alongside Ranvir in a matching look.
In our opinion, if you feel comfortable and it’s not hurting anybody, just wear what you want! Simple as that.

David and Victoria have recently been in Canada, with the former teaming up with none other than Elvis film star Austin Butler to help lift a tree out of the road as it was obstructing drivers.
‘Did u ever think u would see Elvis and Beckham lifting a tree?? Helping the community in Muskoka. I’m impressed gentleman [sic],’ the Spice Girls star wrote in an Instagram post, where she shared a video of the teamwork.
One commenter wrote: ‘David Beckham and Austin Butler am I in heaven?’ while another said: ‘Can you imagine driving by and these guys holding up so you can drive under lol I’d stall my car on purpose.’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
