‘Best of Luck. You are a brilliant actress.’ Another wrote.

‘Wonderful character. Loved her,’ a third added.

It’s say to say that Gurlaine now has the world at her feet, and we’re sure that whatever she does next is going to be just as enjoyable as Ash Panesar’s journey.

EastEnders star Gurlaine Kaur Garcha has been left in tears after a heartfelt goodbye video from the cast and crew, following her exit from the show.

Her character, the much loved Ash Panesar, traded Albert Square for Canada in last night’s (March 8) episode, after being offered a job that she couldn’t refuse.

Though Nish (Navin Chowdhry) tried his best to keep her close by, Ash was determined to spread her wings, and headed off in the back of a cab to start her new life away from Walford.

Taking to Instagram after the episode, EastEnders shared a heartfelt video that showed a tearful Gurlaine receiving gifts from her co-stars and crew as she wrapped on her final scene.

‘I’ve had the best time on this show,’ Gurlaine revealed in her farewell speech, ‘and what’s funny is this actually came to me at a time when I had given up on the dream of being an actor. So it’s an extra special job to me.

‘I’ve learnt so much and I’ve worked with the most amazing people.’

She went on to thank members of the crew, including lighting, sound, costume, make up and directors, admitting that what she’ll miss the most is the people she works with.

‘It’s been an amazing three and a half years here at EastEnders,’ she continued, before thanking the viewers who have followed Ash through her journey.

There was a lot of support for the actress in the comments of the video, including from co-star Balvinder Sopal, who plays Suki Panesar.

‘You brilliant, brilliant human!’ She wrote. ‘What fire you brought to the square.

‘It was an utter pleasure to work alongside and share the screen with you. Only great things, from now on.’

Fans were also quick to send their best wishes, with one saying: ‘Best of luck to you in your future endeavors!’
