Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) recently revealed that he was unable to have children of his own during a row with partner Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) in EastEnders, and he will soon be left upset when the whole Square finds out.
When Reiss found an unused pregnancy test in Sonia’s bag, he instantly assumed she was cheating, and confronted her about it in shocking scenes.
He demanded to know who the baby’s father was, before revealing that it couldn’t be him as he was infertile.
Sonia was left hurt by the accusation, revealing that the test had come back negative and insisting that she would never cheat on him.
With Reiss having already ranted about how much he didn’t want kids, she wondered why he’d been tested in the first place, before deciding that he must want kids, just not with her.
In order to win her over, Reiss assured her that he did want to have children with her, and asked her to consider undergoing IVF.
Sonia agreed, but they were soon hit with the obstacle of funds, after learning that it was unlikely they would be offered the treatment on the NHS because Sonia already had a child.
Reiss soon assured her that he had an account full of money that he’d forgotten about, and there was enough inside to pay for three or four rounds of treatment.

However, what he didn’t tell her was that the money actually belonged to his wife Debbie, who has been living under full-time care since suffering a stroke in the bath.
In upcoming scenes, Sonia and Reiss will head to their first fertility appointment. Though it is what he wants to do, Reiss finds himself intimidated by the situation.

Later, he has a run in with Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) at the launderette, following which his fertility becomes the talk of the town.
Luckily for Reiss, Sonia is on hand to comfort him, and assure him that he will make a great dad.
