Phil has a lot to say (Picture: BBC)
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) has never been Alfie Moon (Shane Richie)’s greatest fan, and EastEnders’ hardest hard man has some choice words to offer Alfie in upcoming episodes.
The issue between Phil and Alfie is usually Kat (Jessie Wallace). When Alfie returned to Albert Square determined to win back the love of his life he discovered she was in a relationship with Phil – in fact they were about to get married. A concerted campaign from Alfie failed to persuade Kat that she’d be better off with him and she and Phil are still together.
In episodes to be aired soon Kat is away visiting her sister Little Mo (Kacey Ainsworth). Phil visits Alfie at his workplace at the bookies and asks him to look after Tommy (Sonny Kendall) and Ernie (Cody Briffett) while she’s away.

Freddie (Bobby Brazier) arrives and lets slip that Tommy told him about where to find his father, rapist Graham Foster (Alex McSweeney). This is information that Little Mo really didn’t want her son finding out, and Alfie knows she’d be horrified at the thought of her son trying to get in touch with the man who raped her.
An angry Alfie makes sure that Tommy knows how upset he is over what he’s said to Freddie and they have a huge row. This causes Tommy to storm out of the house and head for the park.

Later Alfie finds him in a bit of a state and brings him back home where they continue to clash, with the fight turning physical as Tommy lashes out. Phil walks in on the argument and he’s in no doubt that the cause of Tommy’s wayward behaviour is Alfie’s terrible parenting skills as he shares his views of what a useless father Alfie has been.
Imagine being lectured on parenting by the man who made Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden)’s life such a misery growing up.

The following day Phil and Alfie decide that Tommy could benefit from a visit to the Boxing Den for a fight with a boy his own age.
At this point Phil notices that Alfie is in quite a lot of pain – though he’s trying to hide it – and tells him he needs to go to the hospital to get checked out.
