While the future ownership of the Queen Vic pub on EastEnders has been in the balance ever since Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) vanished at Christmas, Linda (Kellie Bright) has been putting plans in place to secure its future.
While the Panesars have been looking forward to adding the iconic pub to their business portfolio, viewers have also seen Linda making mysterious phone calls that suggest there might be other parties interested in taking over.
In upcoming episodes Linda breaks down when Mick’s ‘presumption of death’ certificate arrives.
As far as the Panesars are concerned this means that they’re one step closer to achieving their aim, but Linda gets on the phone to her mystery contact again and we learn that she’s only keeping Nish (Navin Chowdhry) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) on the hook as a fall-back option.
For Linda, the worst part of all this is keeping Sharon (Letitia Dean) in the dark about her plans, especially when Sharon is supportive in helping to explain to Ollie (Harry Farr) about what’s happened to Mick.
Linda tells Alfie (Shane Richie) she’s lying to Sharon and Nish as she has some other buyers lined up.
It comes as a huge shock for Nish and Suki later when they bring some business associates in to show off their new purchase, only for Linda to finally reveal to them that she’s pulling out of her agreement with them.
While Suki makes no secret of her anger, Nish calmly walks away, saying that it’s just a business and nothing to get too concerned about.
Sharon is raging at Linda’s betrayal just as the doors of the pub open and the new co-owner walks in. The mystery buyer is revealed to be Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), Linda’s mum.

Elaine will soon be joined by husband George (Colin Salmon) and daughters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford).
Despite his initial reaction, Nish doesn’t take the disappointment over the pub well. He tries to intimidate Elaine but she refuses to let his actions affect her.
But later Elaine and Linda hear noises downstairs during the night. When they go down they’re shocked to find the bar has been completely wrecked by intruders.
When Linda finds a glass flamingo, which was a gift from Nish, has been pointedly placed on the bar, she realises that Nish must have been behind the attack.
Will he ramp up his revenge? How much danger is Linda in?
