Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) could find herself going back to prison when she chooses to cover for ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
George is set to get himself into a whole heap of trouble when he lashes out at rapist Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) during a tense stand-off, sending him flying to the bottom of the Queen Vic stairs.
This comes after Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) attempt to strike a truce with Dean is met with deaf ears, with the situation only escalating when Cindy and Ian (Adam Woodyatt) demand that Dean back down from the business.
Cindy, George and Linda are in total shock as they rush to Dean’s motionless body, and Cindy is quick to call an ambulance.

However, she leaves Ian stunned when she pretends that she didn’t see what happened.
Ian is furious as he realises that she plans on covering for George.
At the hospital, he begs her to reconsider, pointing out that she could end up back inside should her lies get caught out.

After Ian’s persuasion, she decides to tell the police the truth.
Meanwhile, George is facing trouble of his own, as it is revealed that he is on a suspended sentence, meaning that he too could go back to prison.
