Denise Fox (Diane Parish) was left in tears in EastEnders on Thursday (December 21) after Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) became aggressive and abusive as he issued her with a violent threat.
Jack, who ripped his marriage apart earlier this month when he slept with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), has been desperately trying to make things right with wife Denise, who knows all about his one night stand.
Denise, however, struggled to get over the fact that not only has Jack cheated on her but that he gave her so much grief over almost having sex with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara), despite the fact she ultimately didn’t go through with it.
The fact that it was Stacey he slept with complicated matters further, given that she’s the grandmother of his granddaughter Charli, meaning that they’ll be forever linked to one another.
Denise confronted Jack over the one night stand again, revealing that she knows Stacey was the other woman, with Jack quick to brand the whole situation ‘messy’. Appalled, Denise called him a ‘cliche’ and, after some advice from both Yolande Truman (Angela Wynter) and Kim (Tameka Empson), she decided to pack a bag and leave Jack.

Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), however, found out about Denise’s impending departure and struggled with the news, urging her stepmum to stay.
Denise was adamant that she had to go but assured Amy that she would be just across the road. But Amy stormed out, leaving Jack irate with Denise for leaving at a time when Amy needs them more than ever.
The former couple set off in search of Amy and found her in the park, where she admitted to having nearly self-harmed.

Denise received both barrels from Jack and, in intense scenes, he became incredibly aggressive, throwing her suitcase and its contents all over the kitchen floor in an explosive rage as he forbid his wife from leaving the family home.
Devastated by his outburst, Denise revealed that Jack was scaring her as she picked up a dress from the floor, notably the green one she wears in the Christmas episode, as she burst into tears.

With Jack having sank a new low with his abusive and agressive behaviour, has he sealed his own fate? Could he perhaps prove to be the Christmas victim?
The detective, who is one of the potential seven men to wind up dead on Christmas Day, has done little that would result in his death but could this latest outburst have changed that?
EastEnders continues Friday December 22 at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
